Bottom line: I love design. Fresh, simple, no frill design. After winning first place in a school-wide art competition when I was in third grade, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life making things look cool. I mean, why not do what you love and get paid for it too? My mom still has that winning piece in her hope chest. It's *not* for sale. ;-)

I graduated with a BFA from Marshall University in 1998. My first job out of college was at an awesome public relations firm, Hyperion Creative Group. It was a great stepping stone for me. I gained mucho experience in a short time and learned a lot that you just don’t learn taking college courses. After working there for a year, I was offered a position with Fenwick Technologies for a nice bump in salary. A year after that, I moved on to TMC Technologies, where I was given the chance to work with the West Virginia Governor's Office of Technology, which brought me to the job I had until July 2007. I was with WVEPSCoR for almost three years. I know...what the HECK does that mean? Well, if you missed the helpful little acronym tool (hover over the word), I'll tell you it stands for West Virginia Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research. It's a mouthful, but the quick and dirty is that the office coordinates funding for the research institutions in West Virginia. Sounds boring, but hey - I got to face the daily challenge of making science look cool!
Summer 2007. Packed it up and moved to fabulous Columbus, Ohio. We couldn't resist how awesome it is here and my husband and I are always willing to be spontaneous and take risks. Isn't that what life is about? Turns out it's the best thing we did. I came. I saw. I now work for OHFA. I know, what is it with me and these acronyms? The Ohio Housing Finance Agency is a funding entity that helps people realize the dream of owning their own home through programs geared toward low- to moderate-income families. Are there any first-time homebuyers in the audience?
On a more personal note, I have two children that are the light of my life. They definitely hold the cards (and my heart) in the palms of their hands. My little man started Kindergarten this fall and hey - why does it seem like he was born just yesterday?
A tri-colored canine recently joined our Lilly fan club. Her name is six and she is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Complete cutie!
Every other weekend, I get to play momma number dos to two sweet boys that belong to my man. Anyone counting out there? We now have a total of three boys, one girl, a Cavalier King Charles puppy and a partridge in a pear tree. Chaos definitely abounds, but when we're all together, we're the blended family that blends. We just fit.

Kind of like good design. :-)
